Blossom
they came with slabs
of slate and marble
and they built a great
coliseum
with pillars, statutes
and irrigation
-and all did marvel
and when the fair weather
was done
and all the gladiators
were gone
they drained the water
from the well
and all the statues crumbled
and fell
then tiny sun seekers
crept up through the marble
they entangled the great
coliseum with
dandelions, buttercups,
and forget me not blossoms
-and i did marvel
